If you are looking for a perfect day in the French countryside that is truly authentic and unique then the Château de Brouay is a perfect choice. Whilst there is a lot of World War II history in this area, there is also rich cultural history in the families that have lived here for centuries.

Travel to Normandy, one of France’s most versatile terroirs with both land and sea offering beautiful produce. Enjoy a morning of sightseeing in Bayeux or Caen before retiring to the Château de Brouay where you will be welcomed by Alexandre and his wife in the ancestral home where Alexandre’s family roots in the region date back to the 12th century.

The estate is located near the D-Day beaches, the Bayeux Tapestry and Caen, and is known for its Abbaye aux Hommes. The estate’s 26 hectares is located in one of the oldest cider producing regions, the Bessin.

Alexandre will walk you through the estate cellars and remarkable high-stem orchards, which produce the 23 varieties of cider apples that go into his award-winning cider and much-lauded Calvados.

After touring the grounds you will enjoy a delicious locally sourced, organic and seasonal lunch in the company of your hosts. This will allow you to share their passion for and attachment to their land and truly experience Normandy from within, a rare and privileged experience.

Alexandre and his wife spent many years living in London and New York and are delighted to welcome visitors to their home.
