St Germain-des-Prés – 1920’s American Writers, Jazz and Revolution Walk
Explore the ancient abbey of St Germain-des-Prés, charming art galleries, old squares, fabulous home décor shops, literary cafés (the post-war intellectual hangouts, the birthplace of existentialism), the famous Beaux Art, hidden medieval streets, the hotel where Oscar Wilde died, the cafés of the jazz era and the extravagant zazous. This takes us to the boutiques and picturesque shopping area of St Sulpice.
This Walk also includes the famous Lost Generation and other famous Writers of the area: Balzac, Simone de Beauvoir, Sartre, Hemmingway and Gertrude Stein to name a few.
